Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION#24-069 <br /> RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR 2024 CRACK <br /> SEAL IMPROVEMENTS, IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #24-08 <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey can most cost-effectively maximize the life of the bituminous <br /> pavement on public streets by sealing cracks on an annual basis; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey adopted budget for 2024 includes $575,000.00 for street <br /> maintenance contracted services, including to crack seal the bituminous pavement on numerous public <br /> street segments in support of the City's Pavement Management Program; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution#24-012 adopted January 9, 2024, the <br /> City Council ordered the City Engineer to prepare plans and specifications for 2024 Crack Seal <br /> Improvements, Improvement Project#24-08; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution#24-069, adopted January 23, 2024 the <br /> City Council approved final plans and specifications as prepared by the City Engineer and authorized <br /> advertisement for bids for the same improvements; and <br /> WHEREAS,bids were advertised in the Anoka Union Herald on January 26 and February 2,2024; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, five (5) bids were received, opened and tabulated on March 4, 2024, and the <br /> following bids were found to comply with the approved plans and specifications and advertisement for bids; <br /> and <br /> Contractor Total Bid <br /> Northwest Asphalt & Maintenance $1281714.88 <br /> Two Brothers Paving $146,5 3 8.68 <br /> Allied Blacktop Company $256,300.24 <br /> Asphalt Surface Technologies Corp. $309,812.60 <br /> Fahrner Asphalt Sealers, L.L.C. $330,416.72 <br /> WHEREAS,the bid of Northwest Asphalt&Maintenance in the amount of$128,714.88 <br /> for the total bid for construction of the improvements in accordance with the approved plans and <br /> specifications and advertisement for bids, is the lowest responsible bidder and their bid shall be <br /> and hereby is accepted. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> 1) The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with <br /> said bidder for the construction of said improvements for and on behalf of the City of Ramsey. <br /> The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br /> and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />
