V. FINDINGS <br /> In September of 2022 a field investigation was performed to evaluate and verify the existence and <br /> boundary of any aquatic resources located within the study area. Eight wetlands were found to exist <br /> within the study area. The following describes the aquatic resources identified,together with a brief <br /> description of wetland types and observations made during the field investigation. <br /> Wetland 1 (Wl): <br /> NWI Cowardin: PEMIA � ��°, 1, <br /> PWI(Hydro)ID: None <br /> Field Observation Circular 39: Type 2 ` <br /> Field Observation Eggers and Reed: Fresh `'- <br /> (wet) Meadow <br /> Soil Mapping Unit(s): Duelm loamy <br /> sand/Hubbard loamy sand/Isan sandy loam <br /> Wetland 1 is located in the northwest corner of <br /> the study area. Wetland 1 is believed to be a <br /> historical wetland. <br /> The field investigation found the site has met all r <br /> three wetland indicators and this wetland should d <br /> be considered palustrine emergent persistent <br /> seasonally saturated(PEM1B) wetland. One <br /> transect and several sample points were taken to W1 <br /> determine the wetland boundary. Soils, hydrology <br /> and topography aided in determining the wetland boundary. <br /> At the wetland pit location W lA the plant community is dominated by reed canary grass and <br /> quaking aspen. The upland pit location W1B is dominated by smooth brome,reed canary grass, and <br /> quaking aspen. Both plant communities are considered hydrophytic. <br /> Soils in the wetland pit location W lA were marked as Other and assumed to meet a hydric soil <br /> indicator below the thick dark surface. Soils in the upland pit location W 1 B did not meet any hydric <br /> soil indicators. <br /> Soils in the wetland pit W1A were not saturated. The pit location met secondary hydrology <br /> indicators D2—Geomorphic Position and D5—FAC-Neutral Test. Soils in the upland pit location <br /> W 1 B were not saturated and did not meet any hydrology indicators. <br /> The determining factor for this delineation was the lack of hydric soil and wetland hydrology <br /> indicators at the upland pit location. The boundaries were determined by following the topographic <br /> breaks. <br /> Wetland 2 (W2): <br /> NWI Cowardin: PSS1A/PUBH <br /> PWI(Hydro)ID: None <br /> Field Observation Circular 39: Type 4/7 <br /> Field Observation Eggers and Reed: Deep Marsh/Wooded Swamp <br /> Soil Mapping Unit(s): Duelm loamy sand/Hubbard loamy sand <br /> Wetland 2 is located in the northeast part of the study area,just to the east of Wetland 1. A portion <br /> of W2 is believed to be historical with the other portion being a pond excavated in upland. <br /> The field investigation found the site has met all three wetland indicators and this portion of the <br /> wetland should be considered a palustrine emergent semipermanently flooded/palustrine forested <br /> Prepared by:Bolton&Menk,Inc.
