Enclosed is an exhibit showing the location of the potential pedestrian r
trail connection corridor,as well as amenities this trail would provide more convenient access to.
During the Riverstone South development process, the City surveyed Bowers Drive residents to see if they
supported construction of a public road connection,a Public Safety and Public works maintenance
connection,or no second connection to Bowers Drive at all. The results of that survey demonstrated that
Bowers Drive residents did not support a second connection between Bowers Drive and the new Riverstone
South development. At the time, the City Council voted to not construct a second access road. However,it
was also decided that this topic should be explored again if/when a future opportunity presented itself.
In 2024,Bowers Drive is proposed to receive pavement overlay improvements-with 2024 Neighborhood
Pavement Overlays,Improvement Project#24-07,and a paved trail connection could be cost-effectively
constructed as part of this project. Staff will therefore share the results of this survey with the City Council
while discussing whether to add a pedestrian trail connection to the project. if a trail connection were to be
constructed, there would be no direct cost to local residents.
Property owner Contact Information
y
The City requests that only one response be submitted per property receiving this survey, and that the name
and address of the respondent be provided below.
Property owner Name.
p
er Prvp ty Address.•
Survey Question
For purposes of pedestrian connectivity to area amenities,do you support a second access to Bowers Drive? y
YES,1 support a paved pedestrian trail connection.
No,l do not support a paved pedestrian trail connection.
Comments:
Y'
I am FOR the new path.Being that Bowers is the longest dead end road in the city a path allows second
y,
access point for public works,Fire,Police and EMS for emergency response and situations. Bowers is a
dangerous road for kids. Because the road is narrow this does not leave much room to ride bikes, scooters,
walk pets,ect... There are also many blind spots and most of the traffic travels faster than the posted speed
limit.we want the path far easier and safer access to the paths and trail system as well as access for our kids
to use the new park.
would like to see a privacy fence or privacy landscaping for those who live adjacent to the path. `
It is our inission to work together to responsibly grow our conitnunity, and to provide quality,cost-effective and efficient governn..tent
3
services,
si
C
