Ci ty of 7550 Sunwood Drive NW • Ramsey,MN 55303 ZOO-- R"S Y City Hall: 763.427.1410 • Fax: 763.427.5543 www.cityoframsey.com POTENTIAL PEDESTRIAN TRAIL CONNECTION SURVEY (IP #24-07) Purpose of this Survey The City of Ramsey is seeking input from residents of Bowers Drive and the Riverstone South development on whether a 10-foot bituminous pedestrian trail connection would be supported between Bowers Drive and the new Riverstone South development. Enclosed is an exhibit showing the location of the potential pedestrian trail connection corridor,as well as amenities this trail would provide more convenient access to. During the Riverstone South development process,the City surveyed Bowers Drive residents to see if they supported construction of a public road connection,a Public Safety and Public Works maintenance connection,or no second connection to Bowers Drive at all. The results of that survey demonstrated that Bowers Drive residents did not support a second connection between Bowers Drive and the new Riverstone South development. At the time,the City Council voted to not construct a second access road. However,it was also decided that this topic should be explored again if/when a future opportunity presented itself. In 2024,Bowers Drive is proposed to receive pavement overlay improvements with 2024 Neighborhood Pavement Overlays,Improvement Project#24-07,and a paved trail connection could be cost-effectively constructed as part of this project. Staff will therefore share the results of this survey with the City Council while discussing whether to add a pedestrian trail connection to the project. If a trail connection were to be constructed,there would be no direct cost to local residents.
