He shared the low bid for the project was from Douglas-Kerr
Underground, L.L.C. in the amount of $2,973,047.22.

Councilmember Riley asked if they are building parking designed for backing in or if there is still
an opportunity to discuss this.

City Engineer/Public Works Director Westby explained that the plans were designed with back-in
angled parking and that is what they would be moving forward with.

Councilmember Musgrove asked if the back-in parking design is something that is seen in other
cities.

City Engineer/Public Works Director Westby stated that this is a design that is becoming more
widely used as this makes people more aware of their surroundings where they are driving and
parking. He noted this is also safer for people who are needing to load and unload things from their
trunks as they would not have to do so in the street.

Motion by Councilmember Musgrove, seconded by Councilmember Olson, to adopt Resolution
#24-086 accepting bids and awarding a contract for Improvement Project #23-19, COR
Infrastructure Improvements, to Douglas-Kerr Underground, L.L.C. in the amount of
$2,973,047.22.

Motion carried.
