Board Member Bentz asked if Mankato had the monies set aside for public pruning and <br />maintenance of trees. <br />Acting Chairperson Max clarified that some cities like Mankato have a maintenance <br />budget to set money aside, and wondered if Ramsey has a designated budget item. <br />Acting Chairperson Max suggested reviewing Ramsey's policy at another meeting. <br />APPROVAL OF ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY BOARD MINUTES <br />Board Member Olds entertained a motion to approve the regular meeting minutes dated <br />October 2, 2006 with a correction to page six (6), paragraph six (6), third sentence under <br />Case #3 where it states "...that, that". He suggested eliminating one of the "that's" to <br />read, "He stated that would be something that could be looked at in a bigger, broader <br />policy discussion by the City in the future." <br />Motion by Board Member Olds and seconded by Board Member Freeburg to approve the <br />October 2, 2006 Minutes as corrected. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Acting Chairperson Max, Board Members Bentz, Freeburg, <br />Olds, and Sibilski. Voting No: None. Absent: Chairperson McDilda and Board Member <br />Hustvedt, Jr. <br />POLICY BOARD BUSINESS <br />Case #1: Wetland Buffer Guidebook Review <br />Environmental Specialist Bacon suggested this case be tabled until Board Member <br />Hustveldt, Jr. arrives. Board Member Hustveldt, Jr. did not attend the meeting. <br />Case #2: 2007 Environmental Expo <br />Environmental Specialist Bacon reminded the committee there is an opportunity to <br />change the venue to include the possible addition of a speaker(s) and/or workshop(s). <br />One of the components of the EPB work plan is environmental education and therefore, <br />Staff would like to get the Board's input on one or more potential topics for either a guest <br />speaker and/or workshop. Environmental Specialist Bacon stated there could be a <br />change of location to the new city hall for the 2007 Environmental Expo. <br />Acting Chairperson Max asked if EPB members would be interested in holding the Expo <br />in conjunction with the tree sale again. <br />Environmental Specialist Bacon stated that has been the tradition in years past. <br />Board Member Bentz suggested that all the trees could be put in the parking ramp. <br />Environmental Policy Board/ November 6, 2006 <br />Page 2 of 12 <br />
