5. 16. <br /> CC Regular Session <br /> Meeting Date: 04/23/2024 <br /> Primary Strategic Plan Initiative: Improve the safety and mobility of transportation corridors. <br /> Information <br /> Title <br /> Adopt Resolution#24-119 Approving Change Order No. 8 for Ramsey Gateway Highway 10 Improvements, <br /> Improvement Project#20-11 <br /> Purpose/Background: <br /> Purpose: <br /> The purpose of this case is to adopt Resolution#24-119 approving Change Order No. 8 for Ramsey Gateway <br /> Highway 10 Improvements, Improvement Project#20-11. <br /> Background: <br /> In 2023, construction began on the Ramsey Gateway Highway 10 project,which includes grade separation of <br /> Highway 10 at the intersections of Sunfish Lake Boulevard and Ramsey Boulevard, frontage road improvements <br /> on both sides of Highway 10, and grade separation of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF)railway crossings <br /> of Ramsey Boulevard and Sunfish Lake Boulevard. Construction of this project is scheduled for completion by <br /> the Spring of 2026. <br /> Numerous City utilities have been and will continue to be constructed and/or reconstructed as part of this project <br /> per the approved construction plans. However, during construction,plan revisions are sometimes required to <br /> account for unforeseen conditions in the field, or to provide for future considerations that were unknown at the <br /> time the plans were prepared and approved. <br /> Change Order No. 8 addresses several such required revisions as identified in the attached revised plan sheets and <br /> Change Order No. 8, which has been signed by a Minnesota Department of Transportation(MnDOT) <br /> representative. <br /> The City Engineer has reviewed and approves of the costs associated with the Extra Work included in Change <br /> Order No. 8 in the total amount of$3,950. <br /> Observations/Alternatives: <br /> Alternative#1 —Adopt Resolution#24-119 approving Change Order No. 8 for Ramsey Gateway Highway 10 <br /> Improvements, Improvement Project#20-11. <br /> Funding Source: <br /> The Extra Work associated with Change Order No. 8 results in a total cost increase of$3,950. <br /> Sanitary sewer and water funds are proposed to fund this work in the following amounts; <br /> • Sanitary Sewer Funds @ $25,650 (cost increase) <br /> •Water Funds @- $21,700 (cost reduction) <br /> Recommendation: <br /> Staff recommends approving alternative#1. <br />
