5. 5. <br /> CC Regular Session <br /> Meeting Date: 04/23/2024 <br /> Primary Strategic Plan Initiative: Strive for high organizational morale and employee retention <br /> Information <br /> Title <br /> Approve Promoting a Parks Maintenance Worker to Lead Parks Maintenance Worker <br /> Purpose/Background: <br /> The purpose of this case is to request authorization to promote a current Parks Maintenance Worker to Lead Parks <br /> Maintenance Worker. This action is necessary due to the pending departure of Lead Parks Maintenance Worker, <br /> Mr. Terry Byron Jr. After nearly 19 years with the City of Ramsey, Mr. Byron is relocating and pursuing other <br /> professional endeavors. <br /> The primary objectives of this position are to assist in providing work direction to Parks Maintenance staff,Seasonal <br /> Workers,as well as to perform the duties of a Parks Maintenance Worker.This position oversees the duties of Ice Rink <br /> Attendants and the maintenance of the City's outdoor ice rink.This position reports to the Parks Maintenance Supervisor <br /> and performs many other additional essential functions for the City, including being on the on-call team and snow plowing <br /> in the winter. <br /> An internal recruitment was conducted and eight candidates were considered for the opening. Mr. Andy Blood <br /> was selected for promotion. Mr. Blood will be subject to a six-month probationary period, the Personnel Policy <br /> and the AFSCME union contract. It should be noted that this promotion creates a vacancy in the Parks Division <br /> that will require filling. <br /> Funding Source: <br /> The 2024 funding required for this action is included in the 2024 budget and represents a savings over the current <br /> amount. <br /> Recommendation: <br /> Staff recommends promoting Mr. Andy Blood,Parks Maintenance Worker, to Parks Lead Worker, at step 5 of the <br /> Lead Parks Maintenance Worker wage scale,which is $37.514 per hour, effective May 18,2024. <br /> Action: <br /> Approve promoting Mr. Andy Blood,Parks Maintenance Worker,to Parks Lead Worker, at step 5 of the Lead <br /> Parks Maintenance Worker wage scale,which is $37.514 per hour, effective May 18,2024. <br /> Attachments <br /> No files) attached. <br /> Form Review <br />
