5. 11.
CC Regular Session
Meeting Date: 04/09/2024
Primary Strategic Plan Initiative: Not Applicable
Information
Title
Adopt Resolution#24-099 Approving Proposal for Ramsey Gateway Highway 10 Improvements As-Built Record
Plans
Purpose/Background:
Purpose:
The purpose of this case is to adopt Resolution#24-099 approving a proposal from Bolton&Menk, Inc. to
prepare as-built record drawings for the Ramsey Gateway Highway 10 Improvements project,Improvement
Project#20-11.
Background:
In 2023, construction began on the Ramsey Gateway Highway 10 project, which includes grade separation of
Highway 10 at the intersections of Sunfish Lake Boulevard and Ramsey Boulevard, frontage road improvements
on both sides of Highway 10, and grade separation of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF)railway crossings
of Ramsey Boulevard and Sunfish Lake Boulevard. Construction of this project is scheduled for completion by
the Spring of 2026.
During construction, numerous City utilities will be constructed and/or reconstructed. While the approved
construction plans include detailed information on these utilities, during construction it is common for utilities to
be constructed to slightly different vertical elevations or along different horizontal alignments, and sometimes
materials and sizes will vary from what is shown in the plans. Therefore, the City typically requires as-built
record plans to be prepared following construction to document these differences allowing City staff to properly
plan for and maintain public utilities.
Attached is a proposal from the project design engineer,Bolton&Menk,Inc. The proposal identifies
not-to-exceed fee of$23,742.00 to provide as-built record plans to the City following the construction and/or
reconstruction of public utilities.
Notification:
Notifications are not required for this case.
Observations/Alternatives:
Observations:
City staff reviewed the proposal and believe the proposed fee is reasonable based on the project scope.
Alternatives:
Alternative#1 —Adopt Resolution#24-099 approving the record drawing proposal from Bolton&Menk, Inc. for
Improvement Project#20-11.
Funding Source:
Sewer and water utility enterprise funds are proposed to pay for this work.
Recommendation:
