Provider Appreciation Day is celebrated the Friday before Mother's Day every year to amplify the nation's collective gratitude for child care providers, teachers, and other educators who support the social, emotional and physical care of young children. "Child care providers are the workforce behind our workforce, while also keeping our children safe, nurturing their curiosity and preparing them for a lifetime of learning and growth," said Susan Gale Perry, CEO of Child Care Aware of America. Anoka County has more than 300 licensed family child care programs serving more than 3,300 children each day. Family child care provides meaningful learning activities in a homelike environment with a consistent caregiver. The care provided to children and families is greatly appreciated and is necessary for our community. Anoka County thanks local family child care providers for the care they provide to the children in the community, building their confidence, teaching them new skills, helping them reach milestones, fostering friendships, providing a safe, healthy environment, and supporting parents and guardians.
