Engineer provided additional direction on installation of 8" PVC just above water stop at
elevation of 96' to drain to manhole 3. As well as PVC installation, a sloped concrete fill will be placed in
sump pit to avoid pooling. Contractor price reflects material and labor.
Proposal No. 020(Field Order No. 013): CB1 Air Flow Sleeves:
To ensure adequate air flow between structural beams within the Clearwell and Backwash Tank, 3"
diameter PVC sleeves will be installed approximately 4' apart in the CB 1 beams. This addition limits the
possibility of a pressure buildup within the tanks. Contractor price reflects material and labor.
Proposal No. 021 (RFP 013): Torpedo Sand Filter Layer:
Recent information from various suppliers around the industry has suggested that when greensand is
installed over support gravel, there is a high likelihood of greensand migration into the gravel layer. This
typically results in a reduction in depth of the greensand layer by 1" to 3". The addition of a 3" layer of
torpedo sand at the interface between the gravel and greensand layer has been recommended by suppliers.
This layer helps create a barrier to prevent the greensand media from infiltrating the support gravel. This is
not required, but highly recommended to assist in maintaining media depths for the life of the media.
Contractor price reflects material and labor.
Advanced Engineering and Environmental Services, Inc.
6901 East Fish Lake Road, Suite 184 • Water Tower Place Business Center • Maple Grove, MN 55369 • 763-463-5036
