The proposed improvements are designated as City Improvement Project#24-05, MSA Xkimo Street Reconstruction. Notification: If Council accepts the bids and awards a contract for construction of the improvements, letters will be mailed to property owners with updates on the project status. Engineering Staff maintains City Improvement project web pages with the most current project information under the Engineering Department web page on the City's website. Time Frame/Observations/Alternatives: Timeframe: Staff estimates up to 10 minutes will be needed to present this case and respond to questions. Alternatives: Alternative#1 —Motion to adopt Resolution#24-125 accepting bids and awarding a contract for MSA Xkimo Street Reconstruction, Improvement Project#24-05,to Northwest Asphalt for the total bid in the amount of $842,253.75. Alternative#2—Motion of other. Funding Source: Funding for the improvements within the Xkimo Street right of way is proposed to come from a combination of Municipal State Aid Funds, Storm Water Utility Funds, Sanitary Sewer Utility Funds, and Water Utility Funds. Improvements within the Riversbend 3 rd, Riversbend 4th, and Riversbend Plaza subdivisions are proposed to come from a combination of Pavement Management Funds, Storm Water Utility Funds, Sanitary Sewer Utility Funds, and Water Utility Funds. On May 8, 2024 a total of four(4)bids were received, opened and tabulated, and the following bids were found to comply with the advertisement for bids. Contractor F$8442 al Bids Northwest Asphalt, Inc. ,253.75 GMH Asphalt Corporation $8531371.91 North Valley, Inc. $8591516.03 Park Construction Company $887,581.54 Engineer's Estimate '$845,S 70.00 The bid of Northwest Asphalt of Shakopee, Minnesota, in the amount of$842,253.75 for the total bid for said improvements in accordance with the approved plans and specifications and advertisement for bids, is the lowest responsible bidder. Adding indirect costs in the amount of 23-percent,brings the total project costs to $1,035,972.12. The high level 2024—2033 CIP estimated total project costs were $942,534.15 for these improvements. The low bid is 0.4-percent below the engineer's estimate. Bidding was competitive,with all bids being within 5-percent of the low bid.
