5.05: Consider Recommending City Council Approval of Plans and Specifications and <br />Authorization to Advertise for Bids for 2024 MSA Pavement Marking Improvements, <br />Improvement Project #24-10 <br />Assistant City Engineer Feriancek reviewed the staff report and recommendation to recommend <br />City Council approval of plans and specifications and authorization to advertise for bids for 2024 <br />MSA Pavement Marking Improvements, Improvement Project #24-10. <br />Motion by Councilmember Olson, seconded by Councilmember Howell, to recommend City <br />Council approval of plans and specifications and authorization to advertise for bids for 2024 MSA <br />Pavement Marking Improvements, Improvement Project #24-10. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Musgrove, Councilmembers Olson and Howell. Voting <br />No: None. <br />6. COMMITTEE / STAFF INPUT <br />6.01: Receive Updates on Improvement Projects, Studies, and Items of Interest <br />City Engineer/Public Works Director Westby provided an update on current and proposed City, <br />County, and MnDOT improvement projects and studies, and on other items of interest to the <br />Committee. <br />Chairperson Musgrove asked if there is an update on the Ferry Street/Highway 47 railroad <br />crossing. <br />City Engineer/Public Works Director Westby replied that MnDOT has officially paused this <br />project but previously allocated funds are secure for the time being. <br />6.02: Review Future Topics Calendar <br />Chairperson Musgrove provided input on street sweeping studies as discussed by the Watershed <br />Implementation Funding group today and asked for information on the City's street sweeping <br />policy. <br />City Engineer/Public Works Director Westby provided additional details on the street sweeping <br />process and its benefits, and that Staff plans to review and update the street sweeping policy to <br />address everything practicable to reduce the transport of sediment and phosphorus to receiving <br />waters. <br />7. ADJOURNMENT <br />Motion by Councilmember Howell, seconded by Councilmember Olson, to adjourn the Public <br />Works Committee meeting. <br />Motion carried. <br />Public Works Committee / April 16, 2024 <br />Page 5 of 6 <br />
