Environmental Policy Board (EPB)
Meeting Date:
Primary Strategic Plan Initiative:
Title:
Staff Updates
06/17/2024
Not Applicable
Information
6. 1.
Purpose/Background:
Spring Recycling Event
The Spring Recycling Day event was held on Saturday, May 4 at our Public Works campus. Approximately 400
vehicles came through during the four (4) hour event. Attached to this case is a breakdown of materials collected
and associated tonnage.
Arbor Day Planting
In place of a regular Environmental Policy Board (EPB) meeting on May 20, available EPB members (Chair
Fetterley, Board Members Salami and Hagerty, and Council Liaison Woestehoff) planted two (2) catalpa trees
along Ramsey Parkway, on the north side of The Draw. Thank you to those that were able to assist with getting
these trees in the ground!
Curbside Recycling Event
The City of Ramsey is coordinating a curbside recycling event for the first two full weeks of August (August
5-16). Information on this recycling opportunity will be included in the July/August Ramsey Resident and likely
in the next issue of the Ramsey Recycler newsletter as well. Ramsey implemented this recycling opportunity in
2023, and it seemed to be a success, with 95 households that utilized the program. This opportunity was
implemented to assist people that do not have an easy means of transporting larger, bulky items to the standard
spring and fall recycling events.
Recommendation:
Not applicable.
Outcome/Action:
No action is necessary as this is simply an update for the Board.
Recycling Event Tonnage Information
Photo of Planting Success
Inbox Reviewed By
Brian Hagen Brian Hagen
Form Started By: Chris Anderson
Final Approval Date: 06/05/2024
Attachments
Form Review
Date
06/05/2024 08:24 AN1
Started On: 06/04/2024 12:21 PM
