Councilmember Olson expressed her support in moving forward with first-right-of-refusal on all <br />three properties that have been presented. She noted the property adjacent to Neon Street would <br />be the best option. <br /> <br />Councilmember Pearson stressed that there should be a review of all the dead end cul-de-sacs <br />citywide with a determination on how to make the roads connect. Regarding these properties he <br />would pursue with first-right-of-refusal on the property adjacent to Neon Street. He noted with <br />the other two properties there would still be a cul-de-sac in place. <br /> <br />Chairperson Elvig concurred. <br /> <br />Motion by Chairperson Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Pearson, to direct staff to contact the <br />property owner of the parcel adjacent to Neon Street as depicted on the map presented to the <br />Committee in order to obtain first-fight-of-refusal on the property as was directed with approval <br />of the National Growth subdivision. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Elvig, Councilmembers Pearson and Olson. Voting <br />No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberPearson. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Fire Chief Kapler stated as the City continues to develop with these smaller <br />pieces of property they will continue to nm into situations like this. He appreciates the <br />oppommity to talk about these issues with the Committee. <br /> <br />Elmcrest Park/Quicksilver Street <br /> <br />Chairperson Elvig directed staff to provide a report on Elmcrest Park at a future meeting. He <br />reported the recent parking lot project is receiving a lot of use. He requested an update fi.om <br />staff regarding the status of Quicksilver Street. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski indicated the contractor has indicated they will be moving ahead with <br />the seal in about three weeks. <br /> <br />Well No. 3 Update <br /> <br />Utilities Supervisor Nelson provided an update on Well No. 3. He reported the well and pump <br />have both been repaired and were put back into the ground on Friday. The well was test fired <br />today and is running perfectly at up to 1,600 gallons per minute. Once the bacteria sample is <br />passed the well will be back in service. <br /> <br />Staff Commendation <br /> <br />Fire Chief Kapler commended Public Works Supervisor Reimer for his efforts and quick <br />response today with the situation where concrete was dropped onto CR 116. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Public Works Committee / May 16, 2006 <br /> Page 15 of 16 <br /> <br /> <br />
