Since this is a temporary condition staff suggests two measures be considered for
implementation during this interim period. First, increased police patrol to insure
compliance with the 30 mph speed limit and continued use of the speed trailer to remind
motorists of the need to adhere to the 30mph speed limit. Staff also suggests the
placement of temporary all way (three way) stop signs at the intersections of Kamacite
Street and 148th Avenue and Kamacite Street and 147th Lane. These stop signs are not
intended to control speed through the neighborhood, but rather are being placed to
emphasis the need to assign right of way because the through traffic may be unfamiliar
with local traffic conditions. These temporary stops signs shall be removed upon
termination of the county road closures.

Recommendations:

Staffrecommends that police patrol be focused to insure compliance with the 30 mph
speed limit and that the use of the speed trailer be continued, and that a temporary all way
(three way) stop signs be placed at the intersections of Kamacite Street and 148th Avenue
and Kamacite Street and 147th Lane.
