Since this is a temporary condition staff suggests two measures bc considered for
implementation during this interim period. First, increased police patrol to insure
compliance with the 30 mph speed limit and continued u~e of the speed trailer to remind
motorists of the need to adhere to the 30mph speed limit. Staff also suggestm the
placement of temporary all way (three way) stop signs at the intemections of Kamacite
Street and 148u~ Avenue and Kamacite Street and 147m Lane. These stop signs are not
intended to control speed through the neighborhood, but mt. her are being placed to
emphasis the need to assign fight of way because the through tra.fiSc may be unfamiliar
with local tra~c conditions. These temporary stops signs shall be removed upon
termination of the county road closures.

Recommendations:

Staff recommends that police patrol be focused to kamuro compliance with the 30 mph
speed Iim~t and that the use of the speed tra/Ier be continued, and that a tempo ~r~ ali way
(three way) stop signs be placed at the intersections of Ka-macite Street and 148 Avenue
and I<~nacite Street and 147m Lane. These temporary stops signs shall be removed upon
term{nation of the county road closures.

Action:

Motion to recommend to City Council that police patrol be focused to insure compliance
with the 30 mph speed limit and that the use of the speed trailer be continued, ~nd that a
temporary ail way (three way) stop sfgms be pie. ced at the intersections of Kamacite Street
and 14.8u~ Avenue and Kamacite Street and 147m Lane.
