Key Findings <br />Strengths of the Community: <br />■ Residents continued to value their strong sense of safety in Ramsey, with the City maintaining steady ratings <br />that met national benchmarks. <br />■ The availability of affordable quality housing in Ramsey was ranked higher than the national average. <br />■ All survey items related to residents' quality of life were on par with benchmark scores and remained similar to <br />those received in the 2020 survey. <br />■ Statistically significant increases from the 2020 survey were seen in evaluations of Ramsey as a place to work <br />(9% increase) and the community taking care of vulnerable residents (7% increase). <br />Potential Areas of Challenge: <br />■ While many economy -related scores met national benchmarks, some fell below the benchmark, including: <br />o Ramsey as a place to visit <br />o Overall quality of business and service establishments <br />o Variety of businesses and service establishments <br />o Vibrancy of downtown/commercial area <br />o Shopping opportunities <br />■ The city earned marks similar to comparison communities for questions related to the natural environment, <br />though modest declines in ratings did occur for Ramsey's cleanliness, water resources, air quality, and yard <br />waste pick-up services. <br />■ Scores within the facet of mobility indicated a few potential areas of focus for the City: <br />o Street repair and bus/transit services both garnered reviews below the national <br />benchmark. <br />o Notable declines were seen in ratings for bus or transit services (23% decline), the <br />overall quality of the transportation system (16% decline), and the ease of travel by public <br />transportation (20% decline). <br />Other Notable Results: <br />■ When asked to assess the importance of potential priorities for Ramsey over the next five years, most residents <br />identified quality public safety services and financial stability as top priorities for the City, with more than half of <br />respondents naming each as essential. All other options garnered majority support, but creating a connected <br />community gained the largest percentage of respondents stating that it was not important at all (8%). <br />■ About 8 in 10 survey participants identified the City's newsletter, the Ramsey Resident, as a top source for <br />information about the Ramsey government and its activities, while roughly half said the same for City social <br />media and the City's website. <br />6 <br />
