Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption:
<br />RESOLUTION #24-164
<br />RESOLUTION APPROVING PARTIAL PAYMENT NO. 1 TO NORTH VALLEY, INC. FOR
<br />JUNIPER WOODS 1ST — 3RD STREET RECONSTRUCTIONS, IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #24-
<br />12
<br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey proposes to reconstruct the streets within the Juniper Woods 1st
<br />2', and 3' subdivision as identified within the 2023 — 2032 10-Year Capital Improvement Program; and
<br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution #23-130, adopted June 13, 2023, the
<br />City Council accepted and awarded the proposal to Bolton & Menk, Inc., for topographic survey of the
<br />project area; and
<br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution #23-129, adopted June 27, 2023, the
<br />City Council accepted and awarded the proposal to Independent Testing Technologies, Inc., for a
<br />geotechnical report of the project area; and
<br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution #23-202, adopted August 22, 2023, the
<br />City Council ordered the City Engineer to prepare plans and specifications for Juniper Woods 1st — 3rd Street
<br />Reconstructions, Improvement Project #24-12; and
<br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution #24-042, adopted January 23, 2024 the
<br />City Council approved final plans and specifications as prepared by the City Engineer and authorized
<br />advertisement for bids for the same improvements; and
<br />WHEREAS, proposals were received for Construction Staking and As -built Survey of $12,024.00
<br />from Bolton and Menk, Inc. for said improvements; and
<br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Resolution #24-070, adopted March 12, 2024, a contract
<br />was awarded to North Valley, Inc. of Nowthen, Minnesota, in the amount of $412,370.09 for said
<br />improvements; and
<br />WHEREAS, as of June 25, 2024 $0.00 has been paid to date; and
<br />WHEREAS, the Senior Engineering Technician has inspected the completed work and
<br />recommends partial payment No. 1 to North Valley, Inc. of Nowthen, Minnesota, for improvement project
<br />#24-12, Juniper Woods 1st — 3rd Street Reconstruction, in the amount of $390,908.43.
<br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
<br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA:
<br />1) The City Council hereby authorizes partial payment No. 1 to North Valley, Inc. of Nowthen,
<br />Minnesota for Improvement Project #24-12, Juniper Woods 1st — 3rd Street Reconstruction in the
<br />amount of $390,908.43.
<br />2) The City Council hereby authorizes the Mayor and City Administrator to sign the release form for
<br />this payment
<br />3) The total amount of this payment is not included in resolutions approving payment of bills for the
<br />date of June 25, 2024.
