Information Title Adopt Resolution#24-124 Approving Change Order No. 20 for Ramsey Gateway Highway 10 Improvements, Improvement Project#20-11 Purpose/Background: Purpose: The purpose of this case is to adopt Resolution#24-124 approving Change Order No. 20 for Ramsey Gateway Highway 10 Improvements, Improvement Project#20-11. Background: In 2023, construction began on the Ramsey Gateway Highway 10 project,which includes grade separation of Highway 10 at the intersections of Sunfish Lake Boulevard and Ramsey Boulevard, frontage road improvements on both sides of Highway 10, and grade separation of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF)railway crossings of Ramsey Boulevard and Sunfish Lake Boulevard. Construction of this project is scheduled for completion by the Spring of 2026. Numerous City utilities have been and will continue to be constructed and/or reconstructed as part of this project per the approved construction plans. However, during construction,plan revisions are sometimes required to account for unforeseen conditions in the field, or to provide for future considerations that were unknown at the time the plans were prepared and approved. Change Order No. 20 addresses such required revisions as identified in attached Change Order No. 20,which has been signed by Minnesota Department of Transportation(MnDOT)representatives and the Contractor,Ames Construction. In summary, sections of existing sanitary sewer that were proposed to be removed in the plans are instead being left in place and filled with sand and bulk-headed to avoid impacting the parking lot and landscaping of an ad j acent business,which would disrupt the business and result in significant costs for repairing their driveway. The City Engineer has reviewed and approves of the Extra Work associated with Change Order No. 20 resulting in a project cost reduction of$10,400. Notification: Notifications are not required. Observations/Alternatives: Observations: City staff reviewed and approved Change Order No. 20. Alternatives: Alternative#1 —Adopt Resolution#24-124 approving Change Order No. 20 for Ramsey Gateway Highway 10 Improvements, Improvement Project#20-11.
