Operations and Maintenance Department <br /> Part of managing an operations and maintenance group that is dedicated to trails is to retain staff specialized <br /> in areas of knowledge that pertain to trail maintenance,and to determine when and how that maintenance gets <br /> completed.As part of the City of Ramsey's Operations and Maintenance Department,the addition of a Trails <br /> Manager is suggested to oversee and implement policies and scheduling related to the operation and maintenance <br /> of trails. The position of Trails Manager would entail the following: <br /> Division Responsibility of aiision Personnel Training Requirements <br /> Trails Manager Manager reports to the Trails Specialized training is required for a <br /> Supervisor and is responsible for all number of the work tasks under this <br /> operations and maintenance division,including: <br /> activities associated with trails <br /> including. • Trail inspections -the city typically <br /> has a minimum of two certified <br /> • Routine Maintenance inspectors to ensure compliance to <br /> • General trail inspections ever-changing regulations and <br /> (safety, erosion, surface quality) guidelines <br /> • Trails,and capital • Herbicide and pesticide use and <br /> improvements (contracted) application as part of the natural <br /> resources restoration and <br /> Manager is also responsible for management program <br /> work force hiring,scheduling,and <br /> oversight.
