Cou ncilmember Peterson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #92-05-080 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF <br />TIlE FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATION OF THE <br />SPONSORED BY THE RAMSEY LIONS CLUB <br /> <br />RAMSEY'S ACCEPTANCE OF <br />SENIOR CITIZEN PROGRAMS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, at the Budget Committee meeting of April 28, 1992, Mr. Jerry Hamlet, <br />representing the Ramsey Lions Club, was present and made a request that the Ramsey City <br />Council accept the financial administration duties for senior citizen programs sponsored by the <br />Ramsey Lions; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Mr. Hamlet advised that the Lions national organization provides liability <br />coverage for all programs sponsored by the Lions, and for those programs that may present a <br />specific liability, such as the hiring of buses for a holiday lights tour, the transportation providers <br />must also present proof of insurance; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Mr. Hamlet stated the Lions are specifically requesting that the City accept <br />contributions and administer the disbursements for these programs and that the Lions will continue <br />to plan for, provide insurance, staff and coordinate these activities; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Budget Committee unanimously approved a motion to recommend to the <br />City Council the City accept the receipting and disbursement function and further directed Staff to <br />establish a specific General Fund cost center and revenue account within the City's Chart of <br />Accounts for the purpose of providing separate reporting on these activities. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the Ramsey City Council hereby accepts the financial administration for the senior <br />citizen programs sponsored by the Ramsey Lions Club. Such administration is to consist of <br />receipting contributions and making disbursements consistent with the City's receipting and <br />disbursement policies. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Hardin and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gilbertson <br />Councilmember Peterson <br />Councilmember Hardin <br />Councilmember Beyer <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br /> <br />
