Councilmember Hardin introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #92-05-104 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CITY ENGINEER TO REQUEST FROM MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (MN/DOT) A TRAFFIC STUDY FOR ROANOKE STREET N.W. FROM 153RD AVENUE N.W. TO JUNIPER RIDGE DRIVE N.W. WHEREAS, the segment of Roanoke Street N.W. between Juniper Ridge Drive N.W. and 153rd Avenue N.W. is presently unmarked for speed limit; and WHEREAS, this street segment has adjacent suburban development which is not sufficiently dense for the segment to be defined by State Statute 169.01.59 as an urban dis~ict which would be eligible for a 30 m.p.h, speed limit; and WHEREAS, the existing unposted speed limit is 55 m.p.h, which is inappropriate for the suburban development existing along the segment. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the City Engineer is hereby authorized to request a traffic study by Mn/DOT for the street known as Roanoke Street N.W. between 153rd Avenue N.W. and Juniper Ridge Drive N.W. 2) That upon completion of the traffic study the City Engineer shall have 153rd Avenue N.W. posted with the correct speed as soon as the required signs are available. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Peterson and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Gilbertson Councilmember Hardin Councilmember Peterson Councilmember Beyer Councilmember Zimmerman and the following voted against the same: None and the following abstained: None and the following were absent: None whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the 26th day of May, 1992. ~,)~6~inistrator ' ~'~VIayor
