Councilmember Hardin introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #92-05-104 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CITY ENGINEER TO REQUEST FROM <br />MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (MN/DOT) A TRAFFIC <br />STUDY FOR ROANOKE STREET N.W. FROM 153RD AVENUE N.W. TO <br />JUNIPER RIDGE DRIVE N.W. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the segment of Roanoke Street N.W. between Juniper Ridge Drive N.W. and <br />153rd Avenue N.W. is presently unmarked for speed limit; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this street segment has adjacent suburban development which is not <br />sufficiently dense for the segment to be defined by State Statute 169.01.59 as an urban dis~ict which <br />would be eligible for a 30 m.p.h, speed limit; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the existing unposted speed limit is 55 m.p.h, which is inappropriate for the <br />suburban development existing along the segment. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the City Engineer is hereby authorized to request a traffic study by Mn/DOT for the street <br />known as Roanoke Street N.W. between 153rd Avenue N.W. and Juniper Ridge Drive N.W. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That upon completion of the traffic study the City Engineer shall have 153rd Avenue N.W. <br />posted with the correct speed as soon as the required signs are available. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Peterson and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gilbertson <br />Councilmember Hardin <br />Councilmember Peterson <br />Councilmember Beyer <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this <br /> <br />the 26th day of May, 1992. <br /> <br />~,)~6~inistrator ' <br /> <br />~'~VIayor <br /> <br /> <br />
