WHEREAS, at the Budget Committee meeting of June 23, 1992, Staff further <br />recommended the City establish the following fee effective August 1, 1992: <br /> <br />Building construction: <br /> <br />Water Availability Charge (WAC) New <br /> <br />$725.00/residential equivalent <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Health has notified the City of Ramsey <br />that the sum of $5.71 annually must be collected from every service connection served by <br />Ramsey's water supply with one-fourth of the total yearly fee due to the Minnesota Department of <br />Health on or before September 30, 1992; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey must include this "fee for safe drinking water testing <br />program mandated by federal law" beginning with the utility billings for the second quarter of 1992 <br />to comply with the requirements established by the Laws of Minnesota 1992, Chapter 513, Article <br />6, Section 2; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Budget Committee concurred with Staff's recommendations and <br />directed the Finance Officer to prepare this resolution for Council approval. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the Ramsey City Council hereby amends the City's municipal water and sewer rates, <br />charges and fees effective June 29, 1992 as detailed within the body of this resolution. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the Ramsey City Council hereby establishes a Water Availability Charge (WAC) in the <br />amount of $725.00 per residential equivalent effective August 1, 1992. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Zimmerman and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof.' <br /> <br />Mayor Gilbertson <br />Councilmember Hardin <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br />Councilmember Beyer <br />Councilmember Peterson <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #92-06-160 <br /> Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
