Councilmember Peterson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #92-08-187 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NAMING "BEAR" AND "EMERALD POND" PARKS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council desires to protect, enhance and provide safe parks <br />for passive and active recreation; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council continues to support recreational improvements; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, unbiased public facility names encourage neighborhood and park identity <br />and stewardship; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the three acre City park located at approximately 15500 Roanoke Street <br />N.W. shall be hereby named "Bear Park"; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the 13 acre City park located at approximately 6000 142nd Lane N.W. shall <br />be hereby named "Emerald Pond Park"; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council directs City Staff to cause placement of the <br />appropriate park signs within these parks. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) That the Ramsey City Council formally adopts the names of Bear and Emerald Pond Parks. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Hardin and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gilbertson <br />Councilmember Peterson <br />Councilmember Hardin <br />Councilmember Beyer <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Cguncil this <br />the l lth day of August, 1992. /~'~d ~/~~~// <br />  yor .... <br /> <br /> <br />
