I I ~ Councilmetnber Peterson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: a so, o gos · RESOLUTION APPROVING PARENTING LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR ACCOUNTANT JENNIFER SWENDSEN I WHI~REAS, consistent with City of Ramsey past practices, medical leaves of absence have been gran~l by the employer (City of Ramsey); and I wHEREAS, Jennifer Swendsen, part time Accountant in the Finance Department, has been on medical leave since January 21, 1993; and I WHEREAS, Jennifer Swendsen has requested a leave of absence for parental leave consistent wi~h Minnesota statutes 181.940 - 181.943 which provides for six weeks leave; and I WHEREAS, the effective date for the parenting leave is approximately April 2, 1993; and i wHEREAS, Ms. Swendsen has presented the City of Ramsey with a note from her physician an~ wilt present a note from the physician before returning to work; and WHEREAS, Ms. Swendsen will use any earned by unused sick leave, accrued I compensatory time and accrued vacation time, with the remaining time as unpaid leave, if necessary; and WHEREAS, The Ramsey City Council authorized such parenting leave at their meeting of February 23, 1993. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey hereby approves the leave of absence request I of Jeni~ifer Swendsen effective approximately April 2, 1993 in accordance with the terms of this ~resolution and Minnesota Statutes 181.940 - 181.943.
