Mayor Gil~ introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION 093-05-100 <br />RESoLuTioN AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURE FOR CITY ENTRANCE SIGN <br /> wH~R~./AS, the City of Ramsey Economic Development Commission has had as a <br />goal, the p~ment of new City signage at major highway entrances to the City; and <br /> <br /> WI~.ER~AS, The Links at Northfork has offered to cause to be built such a sign at the <br />intersecfiog~of T.H. #10 and 153rd Avenue N.W. approximately 700 feet east of the Ramsey <br />border witli ~ River, and <br /> WI~ R~AS, this sign will replace an existing Ramsey entry sign beyond its useful life; <br />and <br /> <br /> WH~,_I?.AS, The Links at Northfork has offered to underwrite the cost of the sign to <br />limit Ramp's ~,ost to no more than the lesser of $3,000 or 30% of the sign in consideration for a <br />Northfork ~ sign face on the westbound face; and <br /> <br /> W!!.~RlgAS, the placement of the sign will cause the removal of an existing double- <br />sided Linldt'~ Northfork sign; and <br /> <br /> w~R~As, The Links at Northfork agrees to light both sign faces and provide <br />perpetual ~ ~i~?lt~nance of the sign and surrounding grounds; and <br /> W~R~,~ AS, the Northfork sign face is intended to direct Metropolitan traffic to the <br />Championtt~ ~p links Course projected at 37,000 rounds of golf in the year 1993, making The <br />Links at N'~ ~.~rk a unique recreational attraction for the City of Ramsey; and <br /> W~E-I~As, The Links at Northfork is located 700 feet off T.H. #10 but with <br />obstructedl ~nd~estricted views from T.H. #10 and this sign will increase the visibility of the <br />entrance to TheLinks at Northfork from T.H. #10; and <br /> ~R;~AS, The Links at Northfork is ensuring that any necessary easements for the <br />sign are ~texifin favor of the City; and <br /> W~JgI~As, the City is retaining final design approval over both sign faces, <br />constmcfi0fl_ de,sign and landscaping. <br />NOW TIi~R~FORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAM~E~i ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) ~ th~ Ci. ty hereby dedicates a sum not to exceed $3,000 for construction of the Ramsey <br /> en_t~nce, s~gn at T.H. #10 and 153rd Avenue N.W. <br /> <br />The mofion~ f~the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Zimme~ an~ UpOn vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thcreof: <br /> m:i r bertson <br /> <br /> <br />
