Councilmem~r er Zimmerman introduced the following resolution and moved for its <br />adoption: <br /> r RESOLUTION g93-08-159 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ADOPTING FINDINGS OF FACT g0342 RELATING TO <br />NORMAN ARCHER'S REQUEST FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO <br />CONSTRUCT AN ACCESSORY STRUCTURE LARGER THAN ALLOWED BY <br /> : CITY CODE <br /> <br /> WHE~AS, Norman Archer, hereinafter referred to as "Applicant", has properly applied <br />for a Conditional Use Permit to construct an accessory structure larger than City Code allows on <br />the property generally known as 15410 Jackal Street N.W. and legally described as follows: <br /> <br /> Lot 7, Block 9, Whispering Pines Estates, Anoka County, Minnesota. <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OFRAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />Thatithe Applicant appeared before the Planning and Zoning Commission for a public <br />hearing, g pursuant to Section 9.03.04 of the Ramsey City Code on August 3, 1993, and that <br />the pBblie hearing was properly advertised and that the minutes of said public hearing are <br />hereby incorporated by reference. <br /> <br />That ithe Subject property is approximately .84 acre in size. <br /> <br />That'the subject property is zoned R-1 Rural Residential. <br /> <br />That'the surrounding properties are also zoned R- 1 Rural Residential. <br /> <br />That;according to Ramsey City Code Section 9.1.1.02, subd. 12, the subject parcel is <br />restl'ikted to a total of 1,488 square feet of garage and accessory structure space. <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />That~ the. Applicant currently has a total of 1,024 square feet of garage and accessory <br />structure space on the subject property and is entitled to another 464 square feet. <br /> <br />That ,the Applicant is proposing to construct an accessory garage that measures 576 square <br />feet, ~vhieh exceeds the total amount of allowable accessory structure space remaining by <br />112 Square feet. <br /> <br />Thatithe Applicant has stated that the purpose for exceeding the allowable garage and <br />accessory structure space on the property is to accommodate the indoor storage of personal <br />equipment and vehicles. <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />10. <br /> <br />11. <br /> <br />That'the Applicant has stated that the proposed accessory structure will be constructed of <br />the same, type of materials as the principal structure on the property. <br /> \ ,, <br />Thatlon a couple of occasions, the City of Ramsey denied requests to construct accessory <br />structures larger than City Code allowed because of the excessive accessory structure size <br />being proposed or excessively large accessory structures, already existing on the property. <br /> <br />That on another occasion, the City of Ramsey approved a request to consu'uct an accessory <br />struc~turo larger than City Code allowed because of the minimal amount of excess square <br />foot~ge being requested (248) and the amount of personal items that the applicani was <br />seeking to store indoors. <br /> <br /> <br />
