Councilmember Peterson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION g94-04-068 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ELIMINATING IMPROVEMENT PROJECT g94-12 FROM THE <br />1994 STREET MAINTENANCE PROGRAM <br /> <br /> WHI~REAS, Improvement Project ~94-12 calls for a 1-1/2 inch bituminous overlay of <br />the street in the Carol Rose and Sports Haven Additions; and <br /> <br /> WHIgREAS, a substantial number of residents appeared at the public hearing held on <br />March 22, 1994, and voiced concern over the need for a bituminous overlay; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Engineer, Mayor Gilbertson and Councilmember Zimmerman met <br />with approximately 20 residents on March 28, 1994, to review the pavement conditions; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, many pavements were judged to be borderline conditions between needing <br />a sealcoat and bituminous overlay; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the street segments which are in definite need of an overlay have been <br />deteriorating rapidly according to long-time residents; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it was the consensus of the residents at the March 28 meeting that they <br />would suppOrt a bituminous overlay if the project were delayed for one year in order to give the <br />residents an opportunity to budget for the improvement. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) That Improvement Project g94-12 be terminated. <br /> <br />2) That a similar overlay project be initiated for the 1995 Street Maintenance Program. <br /> <br />3) That the one-year delay of this project will not affect the City's rate of financial participation <br /> on the future project if implemented in 1995. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mayor Gilbertson <br />and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br /> Mayor Gilbertson <br /> Councilmember Peterson <br /> Councilmember Beyer <br /> Councilmember Hardin <br /> Councilmember Zimmerman <br /> <br />and the folloWing voted against the same: <br /> <br /> None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br /> None <br /> <br /> <br />
