Mayor Gilbertson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #94-05-085 RESOLUTION APPROVING RAMSEY LIONS CLUB APPLICATION FOR A ONE-DAY OFF-SITE LAWFUL GAMBLING LICENSE (PULL-TABS AND TIPBOARDS) AT THE ANNUAL COMMUNITY PICNIC AT CENTRAL PARK WHEREAS, the Ramsey Lions Club currently holds a license to conduct lawful gambling; and WHEREAS, the Ramsey Lions Club currently maintains at least one premises permit in the City as required by the Gambling Control Board; and wHEREAS, an organization with a license to conduct lawful gambling may conduct gambling on a site other than a permitted site for one day each calendar year for a period up to 12 hours; and WHEREAS, the Ramsey Lions Club has requested Council waive the 30-day notice provision; and WHEREAS, the Gambling Control Board Division of the Department of Gaming requires the City of Ramsey adopt a resolution specifically approving or denying the application. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: l) That the Ramsey City Council hereby approves the application for a one-day off-site lawful gambling license (pull-tabs and tipboards) at the Annual Community Picnic at Central Park. 2) That the Ramsey City Council agrees to waive the 30-day notice provision. 3) That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes the City Administrator to sign the application and any other documents required by the Minnesota Gambling Control Board. The motion fOr the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Peterson and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Gilbertson Councilmomber Peterson Councilmember Beyer Cou ncilmernber Hardin and the following voted against the same: Councilmelnber Zimmerman and the following abstained: None and the following were absent: None
