Councilmember Peterson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION #94-07-139 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #94-01 THROUGH #94-11 (1994 STREET <br />MAINTEN/IkNCE PROGRAM - CRACK SEALING) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, resolutions were adopted by the Ramsey City Council on May 24, 1994, <br />authorizing the preparation of plans and specifications for the above referenced work; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, resolutions were adopted by the Ramsey City Council on June 14, 1994, <br />approving the plans and specifications and authorizing the advertisement for bids for the above <br />referenced work; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the 1994 Street Maintenance <br />Program, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law on July 8, 1994; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the following bids were received: <br /> <br />Bidder <br /> <br />Amount of Bid <br /> <br />Allied Blacktop Co. <br />Astech Corp. <br />Northwest Asphalt Maintenance, Inc. <br />Bargen, Inc. <br />Bergman Companies, Inc. <br /> <br />$23,067.00 <br />$23,100.00 <br />$24,981.00 <br />$28,908.00 <br />$32,340.00 <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS, it appears that Allied Blacktop Co. is the lowest responsible bidder. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with Allied Blacktop Co. in the name of the City of Ramsey for the 1994 Street <br />Maintenance Program - Crack Sealing (Improvement Projects g94-01 through 4494-11) in <br />the amount of $23,067.00. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders <br />the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the <br />next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Zimmerman and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gilbertson <br />Councilmember Peterson <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br />Councilmember Beyer <br />Councilmember Hardin <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br /> <br />
