Councilmember Zimmerman introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #94-07-142 RESOLUTION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM) RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR PROJECT g93-11 THROUGH g93-13 (1994 STREET PAVING WHEREAS, resolutions were adopted by the Ramsey City Council on September 14, 1993, October 26, 1993, and October 12, 1993, authorizing the preparation of plans and specifications for Improvement Projects gO3-11, g93-12 and g93-13 respectively; and WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the 1994 Street Paving Program (Improvement Project #93-11 through #93-13), bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law on July 8, 1994; and WHEREAS, the following bids were received: Bidder Amount of Bid W. B. Miller, Inc. Bituminous Consulting & Contracting Co., Inc. Buck Blactop, Inc. Aero Asphalt, Inc. $48,122.00 $53,220.90 $60,718.00 $70,952.00 AND WHEREAS, it appears that W. B. Miller, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1) That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with W. B. Miller, Inc. in the name of the City of Ramsey for the 1994 Street Paving Program (Improvement Projects/193-11 through/193-13) in the amount of $48,122.00. 2) That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Peterson and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Gilbertson Councilmember Zimmerman Councilmember Peterson Councilmember Beyer Councilmember Hardin and the following voted against the same: None and the following abstained: None
