Councilmember Peterson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #94-08-164 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING HOURLY RATES OF PAY FOR ELECTION <br />JUDGES FOR THE 1994 ELECTIONS <br /> wHEREAS, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Section 204B.31, a governing body must <br />fix an amount of compensation to be paid to individuals serving as election judges; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, election judges shall receive at least the prevailing Minnesota minimum <br />wage for each hour spent carrying out their duties at the polling places, for attending required <br />training sessions, and in traveling to pick up election supplies or to deliver election returns to the <br />County Auditor; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, during 1992, the City's election judges were paid $5.50 per hour and <br />chairs were paid $6.00 per hour. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the City Council hereby establishes an hourly rate of pay of $4.75 for election judge <br />trainees, $5.50 for regular election judges and $6.00 for chairs. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Hardin and uPOn vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gilbertson <br />Coun¢ilmember Peterson <br />Cou ncilmember Hardin <br />Counciimember Beyer <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the RamW C!t~uncil this <br />the 22nd day of ~August, 1994. ~~~ <br /> <br />City Administrator <br /> <br /> <br />
