Councilmem~r Hardin introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #94-09-214 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR <br />ENGINEERING DESIGN AND ASSOCIATED SERVICES FOR EXTENSION OF <br />MUNICIPAL WATER AND SEWER UTILITIES TO ANOKA ELECTRIC <br />COOPERA'I~IVE'S DEVELOPMENT SITE <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is necessary to extend municipal water and sewer utilities to the site being <br />developed by Anoka Electric Cooperative; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, staff was directed to solicit engineering proposals for the work; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, proposals were received from two engineering firms currently performing <br />work in the City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the costs for the engineering design and associated services by each firm are <br />detailed below: <br /> <br />Basic Services 1 <br />Technical Services 2 <br />Soils] Work 2 <br />Estimated Budget Total <br /> <br />Hakanson Anderson RLK Associates <br />$ 36,900 $ 82,500 <br />43,000 56,500 <br />9.800 9,365 <br />$ 89,700 $ 148,365 <br /> <br />1 Compensated at hourly rate with not-to-exceed maximum. <br />2 Compensated at hourly rate. Figure presented is a budget estimate. <br /> <br /> AND ~WHEREAS, both proposals are with generally accepted guidelines associated with <br />fee structures for projects of this type, the proposal from Hakanson Anderson is substantially <br />lower in the nOt-to-exceed price for basic services. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, that the City Engineer is <br />hereby authorized and directed to enter into an agreement Hakanson Anderson for engineering <br />design and as~ociated services for extension of municipal water and sewer utilities to the Anoka <br />Electric COOperative development site contingent upon an executed copy of a development <br />agreement bet~veen the City of Ramsey and Anoka Electric Cooperative. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mayor Gilbertson <br />and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br /> Mayor Gilbertson <br /> Coun~ilmember Hardin <br /> Counoilmember Beyer <br /> Coun¢ilmember Peterson <br /> Coun0ilmember Zimmerman <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br /> <br />
