Councilrn~mber Zimmerman introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF ONE 2-1/2 TON TRUCK <br />CAB AND CHASSIS AND ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR DUMP BOX, SNOW <br />PLOW, WING AND SANDER <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, at the Council's Finance Committee meeting of January 24, 1995, staff <br />presented a request for the purchase of one 2-1/2 ton track cab, chassis, dump box, snow plow, <br />wing and sander as a replacement for existing vehicle g607; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, included in the 1995 Adopted General Fund Budget was the purchase of <br />one 2-1/2 ton truck cab, chassis, dump box, snow plow, wing and sander as a replacement for <br />existing vehicle #607 at a total price of $75,000.00; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it has been determined that the purchase of the cab and chassis through the <br />Hennepin County Purchasing Cooperative meets all statutory bidding requirements; and <br /> <br /> WHERES, the Hcnnepin County Purchasing Cooperative did not solicit bids on the <br />dump box, snow plow, wing and sander making it necessary for the City to proceed with the <br />requirements under the statutory bidding laws; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Lakeland Ford was awarded the contract for supplying the 1995 heavy <br />trucks at a pdee of $41,903 plus sales tax and license; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the base price of the cab and chassis is $41,903.00 plus sales tax and <br />license for the truck cab and chassis, plus an amount not-to-exceed $30,373.00 for dump box, <br />snow plow, wing and sander, plus the fu'st year replacement funding of $6,200.00 for a total <br />funding of $81,200.00; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the sum of $29,997.00 is available in the City's Equipment Replacement <br />Fund and was taken into consideration in the 1995 Adopted General Fund Budget; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Finance Committee approved this recommendation and hereby <br />recommends that Ramsey City Council authorize the purchase and funding sources as detailed in <br />this resolution and recommended the advertisement of bids. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes the capital purchase of one 2-1/2 ton truck <br />cab and chassis from Lakeland Ford. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes the solicitation of bids for the purchase of <br />a dump box, snow plow, wing and sander. <br /> <br />3) <br /> <br />That the City Council hereby authorizes the transfer of funds from the City's Equipment <br />Replacement Fund to the General Fund as detailed within this resolution. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Beahen and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof.' <br /> <br /> <br />
