Motion by Commissioner Levine, seconded by Board Member Tfites Rolle, to deny the request for a variance to maximum cul-de-sac length in Wild Oaks of Ramsey and adopt Resolution #06- 05-144. Further discussion: Board Member Cleveland stressed that the cluster ordinance be reviewed from a more visionary standpoint, and that consideration be given to public safety, as well as consideration regarding the 600-foot cul-de-sac requirement. Board Member Trites Rolle noted that the review of the cluster ordinance should include consideration of different densities and lengths in relation to the cul-de-sac length. There should also be consideration of variances that have been allowed in the past and the outcomes. Chairperson Nixt indicated his consideration of this variance request is completely independent of the cluster ordinance. It is a pure variance issue on a proposed land use, regardless of the zoning, which should be evaluated purely based on the cul-de-sac length standard. Motion Carded. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Board Members Levine, Trites Roll, Brauer, Cleveland, and Hunt. Voting No: None. Absent: Board Member Van Scoy. BOARD INPUT None.
