Councilmember Zimmerman introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #95-03-054 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CITY ENGINEER TO REQUEST, FROM MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, A WARRANT STUDY FOR THE INSTALLATION OF A SIGNALIZED INTERSECTION FOR THE INTERSECTION OF 167TH AVENUE N.W. AND TRUNK HIGHWAY #47 WHEREAS, the intersection of 167th Avenue N.W. and Trunk Highway #47 involve mutual jurisdictions of the Minnesota Department of Transportation and the City of Ramsey; and WHEREAS, both 167th Avenue N.W. and Trunk Highway #47 are collector and arterial streets within the City of Ramsey; and WHEREAS, traffic along these streets have been increasing in proportion with the rapid growth of the City of Ramsey; and WHEREAS, considerable development has occurred along Trunk Highway #47 since the last warranted study was conducted in October 1992. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the City Engineer is hereby authorized to request a warrant study by the Minnesota Department of Transportation for the intersection of 167th Avenue N.W. and Trunk Highway #47. 2) That upon completion of the warrant study, the City Engineer shall report to the City Council as to the findings and recommend what future course of action should be taken. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Beahen and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Hardin Councilmember Zimmerman Councilmember Beahen Councilmember Beyer Councilmember Peterson and the following voted against the same: None and the following abstained: None Resolution #95-03-054 Page I of 2
