Councilmember Zimmerman introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #95-05-110 RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR BOARDWALK CONSTRUCTION FOR LAKE ITASCA TRAIL AND FOX PARK WHEREAS, included in the park budgets for the Lake Itasca Trail and Fox Park was the construction of floating boardwalks over portions of wetlands; and WHEREAS, requests for bids were sent to contractors on April 17, 1995 and included bid specifications for both 4' and 8' segments; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Minnesota bid law, the following sealed bids were received and opened on Tuesday, May 9, 1995: Itasca Trail Flanagan Sales 4' Trail $56,158 8' Trail $85,561 Fox Park $20,801 (4' and 8') Value Recreation 4' Trail $63,310 8' Trail $90,722 $37,200 (4' and 8') AND WHEREAS, the Park and Recreation Commission reviewed these bids on May 11, 1995, and recommended awarding the contract to Flanagan Sales; and WHEREAS, Flanagan Sales is the lowest bidder meeting the required specifications. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the Parks/Utilities Supervisor and the City Administrator are hereby authorized to enter into and agreement with Flanagan Sales, in the name of the City of Ramsey, for the construction of boardwalk on the Lake Itasca Trail and in Fox Park at a price not-to-exceed $124,000.00. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Beahen and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor: Mayor Hardin Councilmember Zimmerman Councilmember Beahen Councilmember Beyer Couneilmember Peterson and the following voted against the same: None and the following abstained: None
