Councilmember Beahen introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #95-06-118 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AGREEMENT FOR RESIDENTIAL RECYCLING <br />PROGRAM BETWEEN THE CITY OF RAMSEY AND ANOKA COUNTY FOR <br />FUNDING OF 1995 LANDFILL ABATEMENT ACTIVITIES. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota Legislature enacted the Select Committee on <br />Recycling and the Environment (SCORE Legislation) which provides for collection of sales tax on <br />solid waste disposal; and <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, counties are responsible for the dispersion of said funds to municipalities; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, an agreement between Anoka County and the City of Ramsey is required <br />prior to the distribution of funds for municipal landfill abatement programs for SCORE funds <br />reimbursement; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey is eligible for a total of $40,980.42 of SCORE funding <br />for 1995. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the Ramsey City Council hereby approves the agreement between the City of Ramsey <br />and Anoka County regarding the full participation of the City of Ramsey in establishing <br />landfill abatement programs pursuant to SCORE Legislation and funding from Anoka <br />County regarding the same. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes the Mayor and City Administrator to sign <br />the agreement and any other necessary documents on behalf of the City. <br /> <br />3) <br /> <br />That the SCORE funds, in the amount of $40,980.42, be used to reimburse the City for the <br />cost of the City-wide Curbside Recycling Program. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Zimmerman and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof.' <br /> <br />Councilmember Beahen <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br />Councilmember Beyer <br />Councilmember Peterson <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br /> <br />
