Councilmember Zimmerman introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ~95-06-122 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #95-01 THROUGH #95-08 (1995 STREET <br />MAINTENANCE PROGRAM - SEALCOATING) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Resolutions g95-04-065 through g95-04-072 were adopted by the Ramsey <br />City Council on April 25, 1995, authorizing the preparation of plans and specifications for the <br />above referenced work; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Resolutions #95-05-087 through g95-05-094 were adopted by the Ramsey <br />City Council on May 9, 1995, approving the plans and specifications and authorizing the <br />advertisement for bids for the above referenced work; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the 1995 Street Maintenance <br />Program, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law on June 7, 1995; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the following quotes were received: <br /> <br />Bidder Basic Bid Alternate Bid <br /> <br />AHied Blacktop Company <br />Astech Corp. <br /> <br />$68,449.20 $84,511.25 <br />$72,387.35 $90,791.99 <br /> <br />Engineer's Estimate <br /> <br />$64,542.00 None <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS, it appears that Allied Blacktop Company is the lowest responsible <br />bidder. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />l) <br /> <br />That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with Allied Blacktop Company in the name of the City of Ramsey for the 1995 <br />Street Maintenance Program - Sealcoating (Improvement Projects g95-01 through g95-08) <br />in the amount of $73,272.05. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders <br />the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the <br />next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Beahen and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br />Councilmember Beahen <br />Couneilmember Beyer <br />Councilmember Peterson <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br /> <br />
