• • • Councilmember Beahen introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #95-06-136 RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #95-13 (RAMSEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SANITARY SEWER AND WATERMAIN EXTENSION) WHEREAS, Resolution #95-05-106 approved the contract documents and specifications for the above referenced work; and WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the Ramsey Elementary School sanitary sewer and watermain extension, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law; and WHEREAS, the following quotes were received Bidder Amount of Bid Barbarossa & Sons, Inc. Northdale Construction Co., Inc. D.H. Blattner & Sons, Inc. Arcon Construction LaTour Construction Landwehr Construction Ryan Contracting Bonine Excavating $ 729,575.75 776,657.54 863,574.85 868,369.53 908,312.19 967,486.50 1,031,315.40 1,063,101.10 Engineer's Estimate $ 754,000.00 AND WHEREAS, it appears that Barbarossa & Sons, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1) That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Barbarossa & Sons, Inc. in the name of the City of Ramsey for the Ramsey Elementary School sanitary sewer and watermain extension in the amount of $729,575.75. 2) That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Hardin Councilmember Beahen Councilmember Zimmerman Councilmember Beyer Councilmember Peterson and the following voted against the same: None
