Councilmember Beyer introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION g95-08-210 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #95-18 (THE CONSTRUCTION OF WATERMAIN <br />AND SANITARY SEWER TO SERVICE THE PROPOSED RIVER/47 PLAZA <br />ADDITION) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Resolution g95-08-165, dated August 8, 1995, authorized the preparation <br />of plans and specifications for the above referenced work; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the construction of watermain and <br />sanitary sewer to service River/47 Plaza Addition, bids were received, opened and tabulated <br />according to law on September 8, 1995; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the following quotes were received <br /> <br />Bj~der <br /> <br />Amount of Bid <br /> <br />Barbarossa & Sons <br />Volk Sewer & Water <br />Inland Utility <br />H & M Asphalt <br />Bonine Excavating <br /> <br />112,074.00 <br />113,840.00 <br />106,766.00 <br />104,218.25 <br />103,581.65 <br /> <br />Engineer's Estimate <br /> <br />$87,378.00 <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS, it appears that Bonine Excavating is the lowest responsible bidder. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with Bonine Excavating in the name of the City of Ramsey for the construction of <br />Improvement Project g95-18 in the amount of $103,581.65. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders <br />the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the <br />next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Peterson and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Hardin <br />Councilmember Beyer <br />Councilmember Peterson <br />Councilmember Beahen <br />Couneilmember Zimmerman <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br /> <br />
