Councilmember Zimmerman introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION g95-09-231 RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS IMPROVEMENT PROJECT g95-16 STREET BETWEEN 171ST AVENUE AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR (BITUMINOUS SURFACING OF BISON AND 173RD AVENUE) WHEREAS, Resolution g95-08-178, dated August 22, 1995, authorized the preparation of plans and specifications for the above referenced work; and WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the bituminous surfacing of Bison Street between 171st Avenue and 173rd Avenue, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law on September 25, 1995; and WHEREAS, the following quotes were received Bidder Amount of Bid H & M Asphalt Bituminous Consulting & Const. Aero Asphalt $32,900.00 $34,475.00 $42,539.00 Engineers Estimate $27,400.00 AND WHEREAS, it appears that H & M Asphalt is the lowest responsible bidder. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1) That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with H & M Asphalt in the name of the City of Ramsey for the bituminous surfacing of Bison Street between 171st Avenue and 173rd Avenue in the amount of $32,900.00. 2) That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. The motion of the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Beyer and upon vote being taken thereon, the following in favor thereof: Mayor Hardin Couneilmember Zimmerman Councilmember Beyer Councilmember Beahen Couneilmember Peterson and the following voted against the same: None
