Councilmember Zimmerman introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION g95-09-231 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT g95-16 <br />STREET BETWEEN 171ST AVENUE <br /> <br /> AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR <br />(BITUMINOUS SURFACING OF BISON <br />AND 173RD AVENUE) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Resolution g95-08-178, dated August 22, 1995, authorized the preparation <br />of plans and specifications for the above referenced work; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the bituminous surfacing of Bison <br />Street between 171st Avenue and 173rd Avenue, bids were received, opened and tabulated <br />according to law on September 25, 1995; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the following quotes were received <br /> <br />Bidder <br /> <br />Amount of Bid <br /> <br />H & M Asphalt <br />Bituminous Consulting & Const. <br />Aero Asphalt <br /> <br />$32,900.00 <br />$34,475.00 <br />$42,539.00 <br /> <br />Engineers Estimate <br /> <br />$27,400.00 <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS, it appears that H & M Asphalt is the lowest responsible bidder. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with H & M Asphalt in the name of the City of Ramsey for the bituminous <br />surfacing of Bison Street between 171st Avenue and 173rd Avenue in the amount of <br />$32,900.00. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders <br />the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the <br />next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. <br /> <br />The motion of the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Beyer and upon vote being taken thereon, the following in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Hardin <br />Couneilmember Zimmerman <br />Councilmember Beyer <br />Councilmember Beahen <br />Couneilmember Peterson <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br /> <br />
