Councilmember Peterson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION g96-03-055 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION MODIFYING THE CITY OF RAMSEY MUNICIPAL STATE AID <br />HIGHWAY SYSTEM <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey has adopted a Comprehensive Plan which provides for <br />a system of arterial and collector thoroughfare; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota has established a Municipal State Aid Street System <br />(MSAS) under Chapter 162 of the State Statutes which promotes the construction and maintenance <br />of such an arterial and collector system; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Ramsey to modify the designated <br />MSAS to conform to its changing transportation needs; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Anoka County has added the segment of Sunfish Lake Boulevard, now <br />C.S.A.H. #57, to the Anoka County State Aid System; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this segment of roadway is concurrent with Section 119, Segment 010, of <br />the City of Ramsey Municipal State Aid System; and; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, such concurrent designation is not in the best interest of eith th City of <br />Ramsey or Anoka County, and furthermore, is not permitted by State Aid roles. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the Ramsey City Council does hereby request the revocation of City of Ramsey <br />Section 119, Segment 010, from its designated Municipal State Aid System. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to forward two certified <br />copies of this resolution to the Commission of Transportation for consideration and, that <br />upon approval of the revisions of said road or portion thereof, that same be constructed, <br />improvement and maintained as a part of the MSAS of the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Zimmerman and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Hardin <br />Councilmember Peterson <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br />Councilmember Beahen <br />Councilmember Beyer <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br /> <br />
