Councilmember Peterson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #96-04-098 RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF ATHLETIC FIELD LIGHTING FOR SOFTBALL FIELDS 3 AND 4 AT CENTRAL PARK WHEREAS, included in the 1996 Adopted Capital Improvement Program is $105,000 in trust fund interest earnings allocated for improvements to Central Park; and WHEREAS, the City Council, at their February 27, 1996 meeting, authorized the advertisement for bids for the purchase and installation of athletic field lighting; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Minnesota Bid Law, a request for bids were advertised and the following two bids were received: Vendor Scope of Work Amount Electro Mechanical Contracting Provision and installation of lamps, poles, and associated appurtenances $62,785.00 Electric Systems of Anoka Provision and installation of electric controls and buried cable $21,900.00 AND WHEREAS, both vendor meet specifications and requirements for the different work to be performed. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorized the City Administrator and the Mayor to enter into an agreement with both Electric Systems of Anoka and Electro Mechanical Contracting, in the name of the City for the purchase and installation of athletic field lighting in an amount not to exceed $21,900.00 and $62,785.00 respectively. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Beahen and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof.' Mayor Hardin Councilmember Peterson Councilmember Beahen Councilmember Beyer Councilmember Zimmerman and the following voted against the same: None and the following abstained: none
