Councilmember Beahen introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #96-05-115 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND ORDERING <br />ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS (IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #96-18 McKINLEY <br />STREET WEST OF SUNFISH LAKE BOULEVARD) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to a motion passed by the Ramsey City Council on February 27, <br />1996, the Consulting Engineer, Mr. Peter R. Raatikka of Hakanson Anderson Associates, Inc. has <br />prepared Plans and Specifications for Improvement Project g96-18 McKinley Street extension <br />West of Sunfish Lake Boulevard. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That such plans and specifications, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part <br />hereof, are hereby approved. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the City Adminislxator shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official paper <br />(Anoka County Union) and the Construction Bulletin an advertisement for bids upon the <br />making of such improvement under such approved Plans and Specifications. The <br />advertisement shall be published for 21 days, shall specify the work to be done, shall state <br />that bids will be received by the City Administrator until 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28, <br />1996, at which time they will be publicly opened in the Council Chambers of the Ramsey <br />Municipal Center by the City Administrator and City Engineer, will then be tabulated, and <br />will be considered by the Ramsey City Council at 7:00 p.m. on May 28, 1996, in the <br />Council Chambers. Any bidder whose responsibility is questioned during consideration of <br />the bid will be given an opportunity to address the Council on the issue of responsibility. <br />No bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Administrator and <br />accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier' s check, bid bond, or certified check payable to the <br />City of Ramsey for five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Peterson and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Hardin <br />Councilmember Beahen <br />Councilmember Peterson <br />Councilmember Beyer <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br /> <br />
