Councilmember Beahen introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION //96-05-120 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT g96-19 (UPGRADE OF WELL NO. 1) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council authorized, by motion on March 26, 1996, the preparation <br />of plans and specifications for the above referenced work; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the upgrading of Well No. 1, bids <br />were received, opened on May 10, 1996, and tabulated according to law; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the following quotes were received: <br /> <br />Bidder <br /> <br />Amount of Bid <br /> <br />E.H. Renner & Sons, Inc. <br />Mark J. Traut Wells, Inc. <br /> <br />$37,274.60 <br />39,998.00 <br /> <br />Engineer's Estimate <br /> <br />40,000.00 <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS, it appears that E.H. Renner & Sons, Inc. is the lowest responsible <br />bidder. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with E.H. Renner & Sons, Inc. in the name of the City of Ramsey for the <br />upgading of Well No. 1 in the amount of $37,274.60. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders <br />the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the <br />next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Zimmerman and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof.' <br /> <br />Mayor Hardin <br />Councilmember Beahen <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br />Councilmember Beyer <br />Councilmember Peterson <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br /> <br />
