Councilmember Beahen introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION //96-05-120 RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT g96-19 (UPGRADE OF WELL NO. 1) WHEREAS, the City Council authorized, by motion on March 26, 1996, the preparation of plans and specifications for the above referenced work; and WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the upgrading of Well No. 1, bids were received, opened on May 10, 1996, and tabulated according to law; and WHEREAS, the following quotes were received: Bidder Amount of Bid E.H. Renner & Sons, Inc. Mark J. Traut Wells, Inc. $37,274.60 39,998.00 Engineer's Estimate 40,000.00 AND WHEREAS, it appears that E.H. Renner & Sons, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1) That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with E.H. Renner & Sons, Inc. in the name of the City of Ramsey for the upgading of Well No. 1 in the amount of $37,274.60. 2) That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof.' Mayor Hardin Councilmember Beahen Councilmember Zimmerman Councilmember Beyer Councilmember Peterson and the following voted against the same: None and the following abstained: None
