Councilmember Beahen introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION #96-05-133 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #96-18 (MCKINLEY STREET WEST OF C.R. #57) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Resolution <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the construction of McKinley <br />Street, bids were received, opened on May 28, 1996, and tabulated according to law; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the following quotes were received <br />Bidder <br /> <br />W.B. Miller, Inc. <br />Kober Excavating, Inc. <br /> <br /> Engineer's Estimate <br /> <br />Amount of Bid <br /> <br /> $74,647.50 <br /> $78,454.20 <br /> <br /> $68,212.00 <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS, it appears that W.B. Miller, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with W.B. Miller, Inc. in the name of the City of Ramsey for the construction of <br />McKinley Street for a distance of 400 feet west of C.R. #57, in the amount of $74,647.50. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders <br />the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the <br />next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Zimmerman and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Hardin <br />Councilmember Beahen <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br />Councilmember Beyer <br />Councilmember Peterson <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br /> <br />
