Councilmember Peterson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #96-06-140 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING EXTENSION OF STIPENDS TO ALL VOLUNTEER <br />COMMISSION AND BOARD MEMBERS AND INCREASING SAID STIPENDS <br />EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 1996 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Chapter 2.03 of the City Code has established the volunteer boards and <br />commissions of the City of Ramsey; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Chapter 2.03 also provides for payment of stipends to volunteer boards <br />and commission members; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, not all boards and commissions members have been afforded the <br />opportunity to receive the stipends; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Finance Committee, at their May 28, 1996 meeting, recommended the <br />inclusion of stipends for all volunteer members on all boards and commissions; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Finance Committee, at their May 28, 1996 regular meeting, <br />recommended that the stipends be increased to $30.00 per meeting for the chair of the board or <br />commission and to $25.00 per meeting for each volunteer member of the board or commission; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Finance Committee, at their may 28, 1996 meeting, recommended that <br />both changes become effective July 1, 1996; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council, at their May 28, 1996 regular meeting, ratified the <br />Finance Committees actions. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the Administrative Services Manager is hereby authorized and directed to notify all <br />volunteer members of all boards and commissions as to the availability of stipends for <br />attendance at meetings effective with meetings held after July 1, 1996. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the Finance Officer is hereby authorized and directed to increase the stipends paid to <br />the chairs and volunteer members of the boards and commissions, to $30.00 and $25.00 <br />respectively for meetings attended after July 1, 1996. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Beahen upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Hardin <br />Councilmember Peterson <br />Councilmember Beahen <br />Councilmember Beyer <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br /> <br />
