Councilmember Peterson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #96-06-148 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS #96-01 THROUGH g96-05 AND #96-07 <br />THROUGH #96-15 (1996 STREET MAINTENANCE PROGRAM - CRACK <br />FILLING) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Resolutions g96-04-080 through #96-04-093 were adopted by the Ramsey <br />City Council on April 23, 1996, authorizing the preparation of plans and specifications for the <br />above referenced work; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Resolutions g96-05-101 through g96-05-114 were adopted by the Ramsey <br />City Council on May 14, 1996, approving the plans and specifications and authorizing the <br />advertisement for bids for the above referenced work; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the 1996 Street Maintenance <br />Program, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law on June 7, 1996; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the following quotes were received: <br /> <br />Bidder <br /> <br />Amount of Bid <br /> <br />Daffinson Asphalt Maintenance <br />Bergman Companies <br />Astech <br />Allied Blacktop Co. <br /> <br />$34,167.60 <br />$43,800.96 <br />$51,725.95 <br />$53,149.60 <br /> <br />Engineer's Estimate <br /> <br />$36,276.00 <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS, it appears that Daffinson Asphalt Maintenance is the lowest <br />responsible bidder. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with Daffinson Asphalt Maintenance in the name of the City of Ramsey for the <br />1996 Street Maintenance Program - Crack Filling (Improvement Projects g96-01 through <br />g96-05 and #96-07 through g96-15) in the amount of $34,167.60. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders <br />the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the <br />next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Beahen upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Hardin <br />Councilmember Peterson <br />Councilmember Beahen <br />Councilmember Beyer <br /> <br /> <br />
